AVAILABLE GLAZES

All Brown Bear Pottery glazes are lead-free and safe in the oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and freezer. However, stoneware does not appreciate sudden temperature changes. Therefore, do NOT preheat your oven before placing pottery inside as the instant change in temperature may cause the piece to crack.

Each of our creative glaze patterns represents a unique combination of glaze colors and finishes applied with varying methods and fired with our own formulas to create Brown Bear Pottery's personal style.

Two of our glazes require extra time to produce. Nature lovers adore our Green Leaf pattern which utilizes real elm leaves hand pressed into the clay to create a fossilized appearance. And, just as no two leaves are the same in nature, each piece of Green Leaf pottery will be somewhat unique. Our popular Michael's Vine pattern is completely hand painted and then coated with a clear glaze to allow the natural color of the clay to shine through.
